Former White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow surprised Fox News by acknowledging that the U.S. economy under President Joe Biden isn’t as bad as he previously claimed.
He cited a Bureau of Economic Analysis report showing 3.3% GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2023, and suggested that Biden deserves credit for it.
However, Kudlow also noted that government spending is fueling the growth and attributed Biden’s lack of a polling boost to lingering effects of high inflation.

“Whoa! That’s a headline,” Fox News’ Sandra Smith said.
“If I were he, I would be out slinging that hash, too. No problem,” Kudlow said.
“I don’t want to be accused of denying his numbers. But I’m saying if you put it in perspective, it really is, a big chunk of it is government spending,” he said.
